San Francisco is amazing City: wtravl.com is making things easier for you to visite the best tourist attractions.

1. Alcatraz Island

Alcatraz, the infamous jail closed in the 60s after three inmates managed to escape. Home of Al Capone for a few years. It’s a must see but be sure to book your tickets in advance, it’s a very popular attraction. The only way to get there is by boat.

2. The Golden Gate

Maybe the most famous bridge in the world. Built in the early 20th century, the Golden Gate Bridge sometime disappear in the fog. Stretching 4,200 feet and towering as high as a 65-story building, the bridge is located in the City limits. It’s not easy to get there if you don’t have a bus tour. Bike or by car is the best option ! While you are there, don’t forget to explore the Presidio Park, located before the Gate, if you come from San Francisco. Land’s end is also a must see. After you crossed the Bridge, the Marine Headland’s and its abandoned military stations is also something that can’t be missed. Sausalito is also a nice little town to visit before coming back to SF.

3. Twin Peaks

Without a car or a tour bus, don’t think of going. It is very, very steep. But once you are on top of the Twin Peaks, you can see the whole City of San Francisco. Magical view. But we recommended going on a sunny day, obviously…

4. Golden Gate Park

New York has Central Park, San Francisco has the Golden Gate Park. Home of the hippie movement in the 60s, it’s not a local favorite for running.

5. Lombard Street

We all know that weird street. Eight sharp switchbacks and stretches down a steep slope from the Presidio East to The Embarcadero. Get there by bus or bike, and then walk down (or up) the street. Be aware that Lombard street is actually very, very long. The famous part is located at the very beginning if you come from downtown SF. Not too far from there are the painted ladies, the famous houses that you see in the TV show Full House. Get in the park and will have a very nice view of the City.

Bonus : Cable Cars

The Cable Cars is an attraction that can’t be missed. They are active since1873, and help locals to run up and down the hilly city. Since the1950s, these cars run only for historic and tourist reasons. Seventeen miles of track still exist and are now à historical landmark.
